“Anqueti’s Double” is in tribute to one of the greatest sporting feats of all time. In May 1965, French cyclist Jacques Anquetil won the Dauphiné Libéré, an eight day stage race. The night the race ended, he flew across the France to Bordeaux to take part in the 567 km Bordeaux-Paris race, which began at two a.m. Anquetil won that race as well.
